Verizon’s Board of Directors declared a quarterly dividend of 56.5 cents per outstanding share, unchanged from the previous quarter. The dividend is payable on August 1 to Verizon (VZ) shareowners of record at the close of business on July 8.
Verizon has approximately 4.1 billion shares of common stock outstanding.
The carrier also announced the release of two new audio accessories – the Altec Lansing Mini H20 wireless Bluetooth speaker and the UE BOOM 2 Limited Edition speaker in two new colors – and said sweat-proof wireless headphones and noise cancelling headphones are on their way on June 6.
Throughout the month of June, Verizon said customers will save 10 percent on any audio product (excluding Bose) when they purchase a smartphone or tablet on a device payment.
Ultra Mobile, a nationwide no-contract carrier, has refreshed two of its plans, added new unlimited calling destinations and launched contract-free handsets on its revamped site.
Ultra Mobile has added unlimited data to its $29 Plan with 1 GB at up to 4G LTE speeds. All Ultra plans starting at $29 will now include unlimited data as standard. Also included in the refreshed $29 plan are unlimited national voice, unlimited global text and unlimited calling to more than 60 destinations.
Unlimited calling now covers 66 destinations, including the new additions of Andorra, Colombia, Kazakhstan, Luxembourg, Martinique, and Russia.
The $44 plan refresh includes a $20 Call Anywhere credit, allowing customers to call over 200 destinations at no additional cost. The plan also includes unlimited national voice, global text and data. Customers on this plan, as well as the $19 and $34 plans, will also be able to enjoy unlimited calling to 30 destinations with 19 new destinations added, including Argentina, Australia, Austria, Bulgaria, Denmark, Germany, Guadeloupe, Hungary, Ireland, Italy, Luxembourg, Netherlands, Norway, Peru, Romania, Slovak Republic, Slovenia, Spain and Sweden.
Sony Mobile Communications announced that its Xperia X series will be available in the United States this summer, with Xperia X now available for pre-order. The complete smartphone lineup includes Xperia X Performance, Xperia X, Xperia XA, and the recently announced Xperia XA Ultra.
Xiaomi has a new fitness tracker called the Mi Band 2. The new monitor is capable of tracking both a user’s steps and heart rate and comes with a miniscule display. The device is retailing in China for RMB 149, or about $23.
