Best Buy today announced that it will be giving away a variety of Android devices for free, when consumers agree to a two-year contract.
According to a press release, Best Buy will be putting up for grabs the Motorola Atrix 4G (AT&T), Nexus S 4G (Sprint), and Samsung Fascinate (Verizon). The promotion is only good today, Wednesday, August 17 at Best Buy, Best Buy Mobile specialty stores and online at BestBuy.com.
The phones are available for free to new and upgrade customers.
“Our goal is to make it as easy as possible to match people to the smartphone options that are right for them, and we love being able to offer in-demand phones at a great price – free,” said Scott Anderson, head of merchandising at Best Buy Mobile, in a statement.
Best Buy and Citi also announced today that the two companies will hold a webcast tomorrow, where executives from both companies, as well as a New York Times bestselling author, will discuss top trends in mobile technology and credit card rewards programs. The companies also promise a “major announcement” after the discussion.
