FreedomPop Launches $20 Unlimited Everything Plan, LTE Phones, Android App

By Ben Munson | May 22, 2014

FreedomPop today announced an “Unlimited Everything” plan for $20 per month. To go with the unlimited talk, text and data—1GB of high-speed, 3G speeds after that—the MVNO is also offering free tethering.

To mark its official move over to Sprint’s LTE network, FreedomPop today is also offering up three LTE-enabled Samsung devices: the Samsung Victory, Galaxy S3, and the Galaxy S4. All the new devices can be used with the MVNO’s free tier that provides 500 MB of data, 200 voice calls and 500 texts each month.

“Now that we have complete access to the most expansive wireless network, we are able to fully upgrade our device portfolio to the high-end smartphones that our customers want,” FreedomPop COO Steven Sesar said in a statement.

Finally, FreedomPop announced the launch of its free, over-the-top (OTT) calling/messaging app on Android. The app either provides a new phone number or allow users to port an existing number.

The rollout of the Android-ready devices and communications applications follows FreedomPop’s April addition of the iPhone’s 4 and 5 models to its portolio and the launch of a similar free talk-and-text application for iOS.
