Gameloft, one of the largest developers of mobile gaming applications, will cut its investment in the Android platform going forward, according to a report from Reuters.
“We have significantly cut our investment in Android platform, just like … many others,” Gameloft finance director Alexandre de Rochefort reportedly said at an investor conference.
Rochefort said the decision was based solely on a lack of effort from Google to make the Android Marketplace a profitable venture for developers.
Rochefort said the Android Marketplace is not as neatly done as the App Store. She also said that Gameloft is currently selling 400 times more iPhone games than it does for Android.
