Google introduced a version of its Chrome for Android devices. The mobile browser is a beta product and will only work on those Android devices running Android 4.0 (Ice Cream Sandwich).

Sundar Pichai, senior vice president of Chrome and Apps for Google, boasted the new mobile browser’s speed and simplicity in a blog post on the company’s website.

“Chrome for Android is designed from the ground up for mobile devices,” Pichai wrote. “We reimagined tabs so they fit just as naturally on a small-screen phone as they do on a larger screen tablet.”

Users can flip or swipe between an unlimited number of tabs using gestures. Pichai likens the user experience to “holding a deck of cards in the palm of your hands, each one a new window to the web.”

Chrome for Android also features “Link Preview,” which automatically zooms in on links to make selecting the precise one easier.

Users can now sync tabs and history with their existing account by signing in using their Google user name and password.

Chrome in beta is available from Android Market in select countries and languages for phones and tablets with Ice Cream Sandwich. Check out a demonstration of the new Chrome browser for Android below:
