Google is apparently over it when it comes to the Nexus One’s reported spotty 3G connection. According to Ry Guy, a Google employee who commented on the company’s Nexus One forum, Google is calling the Nexus One all good and getting on with it.
“I’ve seen some recent speculation on this thread about an OTA to improve 3G connectivity and I want to give you an update on the situation,” Guy writes. “While we are continuing to monitor user feedback regarding the 3G performance on the Nexus One, we are no longer investigating further engineering improvements at this time.”
Guy goes on to recommend that those “still experiencing 3G issues… try changing your location or even the orientation of your phone, as this may help in areas with weaker coverage.”
After launch of the Nexus One, Google and T-Mobile USA played a quick game of back-and-forth on whether it was the device or the network that was to blame for widespread reports of spotty or non-existent 3G connectivity.
