In an effort to better compete with Apple’s retails shops this holiday season, Google has plans to launch showrooms in six major U.S. cities.
The showrooms will only be open for the holidays and will be called “Winter Wonderlabs”. Google will feature its line of Nexus smartphones and tablets, as well as its Chromecast and Chromebook products.
The stores will also feature an interactive element, where shoppers can step into a giant snow globe to create slow motion videos that they can share with others.
The Wonderlabs will be opened in New York City, Washington D.C. Chicago, Los Angeles, New Jersey (a city in New Jersey has yet to be named), and Sacramento.
The news comes as Google has come under fire for constructing a large structure on a barge in San Francisco Bay. Google says the center will be a place where people can learn about technology.
