Greystripe announced a deal with Zapak Digital Entertainment in India to supply more than 900 of its ad-supported mobile games and applications for distribution through Zapak.
Zapak, an online gaming company that is part of the Reliance ADA Group, represents Greystripe’s biggest partner in India and follows along the same lines as Greystripe’s distribution deal with NBC Universal, according to Michael Chang, CEO and co-founder of Greystripe.
The company has partnered with some 150 individual game publishers and aggregated about 900 games; it takes that catalog of games and syndicates it to companies like Zapak. Greystripe also sells ads served through the games; players typically see the ads at the start or end of a gaming session.
Zapak has 5.1 million registered gamers. Greystripe’s catalog of games will be made available through Zapak’s WAP site and eventually its Website.
Greystripe has been offering its game and application catalog for several years now, but the concept is similar to that of the Apple Apps Store and the Android Market.
