Smartphone maker HTC reported a 30 percent drop in its first-quarter net profit compared with last year’s first quarter.
The Taiwanese company, the manufacturer behind the G1 phone, said revenue dropped 3.4 percent in the first quarter, mainly because of certain new product shipment delays. The company maintains its view of double-digit growth this year.
HTC Chief Executive Peter Chou told The Wall Street Journal the smartphone market is picking up again this quarter.
