IBM announced new subscription-based managed services and support for the BlackBerry Enterprise Solution.
According to a press release, the services are meant to simplify management, technical support and cost of a client’s BlackBerry deployment, while making it easier for them to tailor the solution to their needs.
IBM said it is working with AstraZeneca, a pharmaceuticals company, to improve mobile access to corporate resources and information for its global workforce with the BlackBerry Enterprise Solution.
The announcement comes in the wake of a similar service announced recently by Verizon and Sybase. While the IBM offering is tailored specifically to Research In Motion (RIM) devices, the latest solution from Verizon focuses on bringing a wider variety of devices to the enterprise in a secure and efficient manner.
