InterDigital announced that it is in settlement talks with Nokia, and that the two have made progress toward resolving all of their disputes.
Last year, InterDigital filed a patent infringement complaint against Nokia with the International Trade Commission (ITC). Nokia argued that it had a license for the patents involved in the case and asked the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York to intervene on the ITC case. On March 20, the court ordered InterDigital to participate in arbitration to resolve its licensing dispute with Nokia, and to stop pursuing the ITC investigation.
Along with announcing that the two are in settlement talks, InterDigital also said it plans to appeal the court’s March 20 decision.
Nokia has not yet commented on the announcement.
