Spore Origins, the first part of the videogame franchise Spore in which players start with a single-cell organism and evolve it to be intelligent creature living in a custom universe, will be available on the Apple iPhone through AT&T on Sept. 4, officials of AT&T and game vendor Electronic Arts said.
Developers announced Spore in 2005 and gradually exposed it to the public. The full game will be available Sept. 7 across various PC and videogame console platforms.
Spore is the brainchild of Will Wright, known for his “The Sims” game series. Origins focuses on just the cellular evolution phase and takes about an hour to play. AT&T customers also can download a demonstration version of Spore Creature Creator.
