iPhone Users Get New eBay Apps

By Andrew Berg | March 30, 2010

eBay finally has gone totally mobile. The virtual auction and classifieds company today announced two new iPhone apps. One will allow users to sell items on eBay from their iPhones, and the other is for eBay’s new eBay classifieds service.

The new eBay Selling and eBay Classifieds mobile apps allow users to photograph and list an item using only their iPhone. The announcement comes as eBay prepares for the launch of a new app for that will be available for the iPad upon its official release date of April 3.

The new app allows users to take a picture with their iPhone’s camera and then immediately list the item on eBay or in eBay classified. Additionally, users can research sales trends and price ranges on eBay, view the status of items for sale, share listings with Facebook and Twitter social networks and link to other eBay and PayPal iPhone apps.

“We offer more choice in eCommerce formats for sellers and buyers than any other online shopping destination,” said Lorrie Norrington, president of eBay Marketplaces, in a statement. “The eBay Selling app makes it easy for sellers to bring even greater value and selection to eBay and offer more great deals for buyers.”

Both apps are free for download at the Apple App Store.
