The International Trade Commission (ITC) ruled Friday that Apple’s products do not violate Nokia’s patents on touchscreen, power and camera technologies.
The ITC has not yet issued a decision on a similar complaint Apple filed against Nokia last year.
Neither company has provided comment on the ITC decision.
Apple’s complaint alleged that Nokia’s devices violate Apple’s patents on phone cameras, antennas, user interface and power management systems. Both companies are also suing each other in federal court.
Separately, the commission decided to review Kodak’s claims that Apple’s iPhone and Research In Motion’s BlackBerry smartphones violate its patents on photo previewing technology.
The review comes after an initial determination from an ITC administrative law judge which found that RIM and Apple did not violate Kodak’s patents. The decision to re-examine the initial finding opens the possibility that Kodak could win its patent complaint.
Kodak wants the ITC to stop Apple and RIM from importing devices that infringe on the patents, including the iPhone. Kodak is also suing Apple for patent infringement in federal court.
