Keysight Technologies, SGS Extend Collaboration on 5G Conformance Testing

By Keysight Technologies, Inc. | October 19, 2018

Keysight Technologies, Inc. announced that the company has extended its collaboration with SGS, a world-leading inspection, verification, testing and certification company, on 5G conformance testing.

SGS has been leveraging Keysight’s solutions for more than 10 years. Since then, SGS has relied on Keysight’s test and measurement solutions for 3GPP LTE and 3G (WCDMA) regulatory, protocol and RF testing. SGS selected Keysight’s 5G NR network emulation solutions, based on Keysight’s UXM 5G wireless test set, for regulatory radio frequency (RF), radio resource management (RRM), and protocol testing of 5G mobile devices across sub-6GHz and mmWave frequencies.

“We are excited to help SGS ensure that their customers’ 5G devices conform to the latest 3GPP industry standards and test plans as mandated by mobile operators,” said Kailash Narayanan, vice president and general manager for Wireless Test at Keysight Technologies. “With the industry at the cusp of 5G device deployment, Keysight’s leading 5G conformance and device acceptance solutions are playing an instrumental role in speeding up delivery of new 5G NR products to market.”

Keysight partnered early with industry-leading chipset and device makers to launch industry first 5G NR end-to-end test and measurement solutions, enabling global mobile ecosystems to accelerate 5G product design development and validation across the entire workflow — from early design, to test and manufacturing.

“It’s essential to our business that SGS partners with Keysight to enter the 5G era, as their 5G total solution is among those leading in the industry,” said Arthur Kwon, the head of SGS Wireless Network Global. “Keysight is SGS’ long term partner for conformance and device acceptance solutions. A strong and continuous cooperation with Keysight for 5G NR, will enable SGS to gain greater competitiveness in the next phase of the wireless market.”
