LG today officially announced the G Watch R, its new Android Wear smartwatch with a circular face.
The device features a 1.3-inch plastic OLED display. Inside, it’s got a 1.2GHz Snapdragon 400 processor, 4GB of storage, 512MB of RAM and a 410mAh battery.
LG is being coy with pricing and release date details but promises it will be available in “key markets” early in the fourth quarter. The company plans to show off the watch next week at IFA in Berlin.
The G Watch R comes along shortly after LG released the square-faced G Watch, its first Android Wear watch.
Of the initial wearables using Google’s Android Wear OS, Motorola’s circular Moto 360 garnered the most anticipation. But LG has beaten Motorola to the punch.
Motorola is expected to officially unveil the Moto 360 at an event next week in Chicago.
