Software company deCarta launched a system for location-enabling mobile applications this week.
deCarta Mobile uses a Java-based programming interface so that other software companies can have features such as modular maps, panning, zooming, routing, geocoding, reverse geocoding and pin overlays.
Customers can buy the server component directly or deCarta can host it, officials said. A beta version is currently available.
Timing and pricing of the final version were not announced.
