Mast Mobile has launched a new service that lets gig workers and business employees get a separate work number on their personal cellular device.
According to Mast, the idea of combining two numbers into one device has become increasingly relevant for those – like freelancers – who need a work line on the go. Unlike Google Voice, Mast said all calls and messages sent through the service use a single, recognizable number.
“We see freelancers and startups put so much time and effort into branding, and voice communication has been the missing piece,” said Mast CEO David Messenger. “We want to give people a simple and flexible way to juggle their work and personal lives so they are in control and can be more successful, backed up by great service and value.”
The new service is initially launching in New York City and will run users $50 per month for unlimited talk and text, and 1 GB of high-speed data. Extra data is available for $10 per GB when needed.
Mast said the first 250 people who sign up will receive a discounted rate of $20 per month for two years.
Mast said the service also provides users with easy billing options that allocate costs to the individual’s business, making it easier to precisely track expenses.
