Leap Wireless International’s Cricket Communications isn’t the only no-contract carrier to offer a new touchscreen device.
MetroPCS this week launched the Samsung Finesse, a touchscreen device with unlimited talk, text and data, Internet access, Web browsing, an MP3 music player and other multimedia functions.
The Finesse’s touchscreen display, virtual qwerty keypad and tactile feedback are designed with Samsung’s TouchWiz interface. The TouchWiz interface incorporates specially designed widgets that allow users to customize and personalize their phone, with instant access to their favorite functions.
The Samsung Finesse is available with a $50 service plan and is available for purchase in all metropolitan areas where MetroPCS service is available, which include Greater Miami/Ft. Lauderdale, Tampa, Orlando, Jacksonville, Atlanta, Detroit, Dallas, Los Angeles, San Francisco Sacramento, Las Vegas, Philadelphia, New York City and Boston.
The Samsung Finesse is listed for $349 on MetroPCS’ Web site.
In contrast, Cricket announced it will sell a new touchscreen phone by Motorola. The Evoke will sell for $299.99 when it goes on sale in May.
