Miley Gets Her Own iPhone App

By Staff Author | June 18, 2010

She’s everywhere! And now you can find her on your iPhone, too. More specifically, you can find a preview of Miley Cyrus’ new album in the form of her new iPhone app, which actually does sound like a good deal, if you’re into that sort of thing.

According to a description of her app on iTunes, it features news, photos, videos, alarm clock and live webcasts by Cyrus. Fans can “stay connected with all the latest updates and be part of Miley’s community.”

The pop star’s app uses a platform from Ustream, which it provides to artists, teams, brands and companies for customizing their own apps. According to a Ustream press release, Cyrus and Allstar Weekend are the first to create apps with the Ustream Live Mobilizer platform.

Ustream says fans can download the Cyrus app for free and preview her new Hollywood Records album “Can’t Be Tamed” exclusively through her free Ustream Live Mobilizer app prior to her record being available to the public at retail stores on Monday. The company says the iPhone-only full album premiere is a first-its-kind for any artist.

Alpha Rev and Grace Potter & the Nocturnals also have developed apps using the Ustream Live Mobilizer platform and plan to kick off their campaigns in July. Ustream says additional mobile apps built on its platform will be unveiled soon.

But, in case you’re wondering, there’s no Justin Bieber app in the works at this time.
