Motorola continues to do the executive shuffle; this time it’s the company’s former head of the mobile phone unit Stu Reed who is taking leave of the company. Reed, who was president of the struggling handset division, was initially displaced when CEO Greg Brown took charge of the unit in early February. The company said then that Reed would move into another position, but announced Friday that he had left the company.
Brown told an investor conference last week that Reed had “inherited a very difficult situation;” he also said that the company was searching for a new head to the mobile phone business.
Last week, Motorola also announced that Chief Marketing Officer Casey Keller had left the company.
