Motorola announced more layoffs, as the struggling handset maker tries to steady itself. The company said it plans to cut another 2,600 jobs, bringing its total layoffs to more than 10,000 since last year.
In a filing with the Securities and Exchange Commission, the company said it will take a pretax charge of about $104 million as part of the its first quarter report due to the latest round of layoffs.
Cutbacks started in January 2007, and the company has cut more than 10% of its workforce since then.
