Motorola announced new low-end phones today and saw the resignation of a top product executive.
The beleaguered company’s new phones are the W388, with a camera and music features for less than $100, along with the VE538, with unique features for blogging and social networking access for less than $250. The phones will reach Asian markets first followed by worldwide sales this fall, according to a Reuters report today.
Meanwhile, the third-place handset maker’s senior vice president for consumer mobile products, Rob Shaddock, resigned. His replacement is long-time Motorola technical expert John Cipolla.
