It’s been just over a week since Motorola announced its proposed break-up and already the executive ranks are experiencing the inevitable shake-down that goes along with a major restructuring.
Motorola today announced that Dan Maloney, president of Motorola’s Home business, has decided to leave the company to serve as the CEO for an unnamed “worldwide producer of electronic components, electrical contacts and assemblies, based in Philadelphia.”
Motorola recently announced that it is targeting the first quarter of 2011 for its planned separation. The company said it intends to separate into two independent, publicly traded companies. One will include the company’s Mobile Devices and Home businesses, and the other will include its Enterprise Mobility Solutions and Networks businesses.
Maloney’s post will go unfilled, as Sanjay Jha, the company’s co-CEO, will continue to lead the previously announced combined Mobile Devices and Home businesses, as well as take the leadership role for the Home business, effective immediately.
