SignalShare announced that the NBA Champion Golden State Warriors have selected SignalShare as their Wi-Fi partner of choice. SignalShare has deployed a new high-density Wi-Fi solution throughout the 500,000 square foot Oracle Arena, which will feature SignalShare’s audience engagement platform, Live-Fi nGage, to accelerate browser-based fan engagement and sponsorship opportunities. Oracle Arena is California’s largest NBA arena — where the reigning NBA champions have sold out 143 consecutive games. The new Wi-Fi system will cover the entire grounds — including seats, concession stands, concourse and press areas.
“We are thrilled to partner with the Warriors, the NBA Champions and premier team, renowned for delighting their fans both on and off the court,” said Joe Costanzo, CTO at SignalShare. “With a reliable wirelessnetwork and infrastructure in place, the sky’s the limit for digital innovation by the franchise. We look forward to working with the organization to provide the best possible live event experience for their fans, while also providing their sponsors a new digital platform.”
In crowded arenas, it can be challenging for fans to make calls, send texts, and consume and upload data from their mobile devices. SignalShare’s Live-Fi serves to offload data from the cellular network, so the cellular network is free to handle calls and cellular text messages, while Wi-Fi takes on the heavy data demands of smartphone users – such as social media use and streaming video.
SignalShare has recently installed its Live-Fi wireless networking solution in the Oracle Arena. The Live-Fi system will support public Wi-Fi, ticket scanning, point of sale (POS), and all other fan-facing wirelessneeds for the Oracle Arena. The Warriors will look to leverage SignalShare’s audience engagement platform, Live-Fi nGage, to accelerate browser-based fan engagement and advertising sponsorship at live events in the arena.
