Apple has confirmed an Oct. 22 media event by sending out invites for the occasion Wednesday. The event, which will take place at the Yerba Buena Center for the Arts Theater in San Francisco, is expected to focus on new iPads and the latest iteration of the company’s desktop operating system.
The invite featured the tagline, “We have a lot more to cover,” and included the color scheme from Apple’s new mobile operating system, iOS 7.
Recent rumors and purported leaks point to Apple unveiling a slimmer, faster iPad, as well as an iPad Mini with a retina display.
Many also believe that Apple will give a release date for Mavericks, the latest iteration of OS X for Mac desktops and laptops.
Apple held a similar event in this same timeframe last year, where it announced a refresh of its larger iPad, while also introducing the world to the iPad Mini.
Shares of Apple were up 2.62 percent to $501.30 in pre-market trading Wednesday.
