HTC will start marketing its HTC Touch Dual smartphone in the United States with Best Buy, sometime this quarter. The HTC Touch Dual is a Windows Mobile 6.1-based handset.

AOL announced a beta version of AOL MyMobile, including enhancements to its Mobile Search function that promises to enable easier access to the service for Research In Motion’s BlackBerry devices, as well as the extension of the AIM TXT shortcode service across all major carriers in the United States. Built using Action Engine’s on-device portal technology, a beta version of AOL MyMobile is available now to Microsoft Windows Mobile users across all major U.S. networks.

Zumobi announced it was awarded a top honor in the CTIA Emerging Technology Awards within the Consumer Mobile Widgets category.

NextWave Wireless and WiChorus announced a joint agreement to provide a powerful end-to-end WiMAX infrastructure solution for operators that integrates WiChorus’ Intelligent ASN gateway and home agent solutions with NextWave’s leading WiMAX base station products. WiChorus also will add support for NextWave’s MXtv technology. As part of the joint agreement NextWave will bundle its WiMAX base stations with WiChorus ASN gateways and home agents enabling operators to purchase a complete end-to-end WiMAX solution.
