• Nokia Siemens Networks (NSN) announced that it has signed a 7-year deal to manage network operations for Embarq’s voice networks. Under the terms of the agreement, 265 Embarq employees in the United States will become NSN staff. Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.
• Hands-On Mobile, a developer of connected games and applications, and Marvel Entertainment have announced the availability of a mobile game and personalization content around the big-screen adaptation of The Incredible Hulk. The game and content are currently available on select carriers worldwide.
• NTT DoCoMo named Andrew recipient of its “Best Partner Award” for its telecommunications network infrastructure support during the past fiscal year. The award was presented at the NTT DoCoMo Partners Day 2008 ceremony hosted by NTT DoCoMo Chairman and CEO Masao Nakamura.
• WeFi, creator of an open, community-based global Wi-Fi network, reached a milestone of 1 million discovered Wi-Fi access points that have been recognized and classified by WeFi. Members of the WeFi community are invited to map out open hotspots in any given location around the world, forming an aggregate picture of all the available Wi-Fi connections.
