Altice USA on Wednesday named an Altice Dominica executive to lead the cable operator’s forthcoming U.S. wireless business.
Former Altice Dominica Deputy CEO and CFO Jean-Charles Nicolas will take over the newly created position of SVP of Altice Mobile at the division’s headquarters in Long Island City, N.Y. He will report to Altice USA Co-President and COO Hakim Boubazine.
“We are making great progress readying our network infrastructure and customer management platforms to support our mobile offering and are glad to have Jean-Charles onboard for this next phase as we bring our wireless product to market,” Boubazine said in a statement.
Nicolas, the company said, will lead the development, launch and strategy of the business and be responsible for the end-to-end customer experience. Altice Mobile is expected to launch next year under an MVNO signed with Sprint late last year.
Altice USA, which officially separated from European parent Altice NV this month, joins Comcast and Charter as cable giants to expand into the U.S. wireless market.
