Samsung was the last-standing Symbian shareholder holdout. But yesterday, it acquiesced to Nokia’s offer to buy out its stake. Nokia has now secured nods from all Symbian shareholders to sell their shares, including Panasonic Mobile Communications, Siemens, and Sony Ericsson.
In June, Nokia announced its plan to buy out all of the other shareholders of smartphone software maker Symbian and make its software royalty-free.
