Buzz about Nokia’s new N85 phone getting its FCC approval for U.S. sales is spreading across the Web this week, even though Nokia itself did not yet announce the device.
Several prominent cell phone blogs reported that the quad-band phone has a 5-megapixel camera and runs the Symbian S60 3rd-edition operating system. It uses a dual-slide design and has a large screen, as shown in various photographs circulating the blogs.
Of course, the Nokia phone everyone is waiting for is the 5800 Xpress Media, colloquially known as the Tube, which should compete directly against the Apple iPhone 3G.
Few other details are known about the N95 or the Tube. Nokia officials were not available to comment.
