Apple wants to “talk iPhone” on Oct. 4. Yes, it’s official, as Apple began sending out official invites to what should be the unveiling of the next iteration of its popular iPhone.
According to a copy of the invite posted on Engadget, Apple will open the doors of its home facility in Cupertino, Calif., for the event, as opposed to years past when the company has booked the Yerba Buena Center for the Arts in San Francisco.
Reports and rumors about the event have been surfacing for months now. The Wall Street Journal originally reported the Oct. 4 date for this event. While no one knows exactly what it’s going to be called (iPhone 5, iPhone 4S?), Apple is expected to unveil a device that will come running the previously unveiled iOS 5, with a bigger screen and 8-megapixel camera, among other features.
Various reports have rumored an iPhone for Sprint next month, but nothing has been confirmed.
