If you don’t want to wait 10 days to get a Palm Treo Pro from Sprint, go to Alltel – it already has it on the shelf.
A day after Palm and Sprint announced that the Treo Pro smartphone would be available on March 15, Alltel has announced that the handset is selling at its retail and online stores.
Alltel, most of which recently merged with Verizon Wireless, is selling the handset on its Web site for $199 after rebates, matching Sprint’s price.
The handset uses Windows Mobile 6.1 and is the first Palm phone available with Internet Explorer Mobile 6.
The Treo Pro was released in Canada on Feb. 27 through Bell Mobility and in Brazil on Feb. 12.
