PepsiCo has confirmed its plans to release a branded line of smartphones and accessories in China, Reuters reported Monday.
The beverage company has said the phones will be similar to other brand licensed products – including clothing, shoes and stereos – and said it does not have plans to become a mobile device manufacturer.
The first Pepsi smartphone, the Pepsi P1, is expected to be released next week and will have middle grade specifications that include a 5.5-inch screen with a 1080p display, 2GB of RAM, 16GB internal storage, and 13-megapixel rear and 5-megapixel front cameras.
