Apple is expected to begin selling its new iPhone and iPad models just days after their unveiling at its spring launch event, 9to5Mac reported.
According to the report, the new 4-inch “iPhone se” and iPad Air may go on sale as early as March 18, only three days after the Apple launch event expected to take place on March 15. These plans, however, are still subject to change, the report said.
The company usually releases its new models a week or two after its launch events following an online pre-order period.
The potential deviation in strategy comes in the wake of an Apple forecast that its revenue could fall over eight percent year-over-year in the January to March quarter. Sales figures are also expected to fall short of the 61 million iPhones sold during the same quarter last year.
Apple’s iPhone accounts for almost two-thirds of the company’s revenue and nearly as much of its profits.
As previously reported, the iPhone se is expected to mostly be an upgrade of the company’s iPhone 5s, complete with an upgraded A9 chip, a new NFC chip for Apple Pay, Live Photo capabilities and curved glass edges.
The new iPad Air 3 is expected to come with iPad Pro-like capabilities.
