The Un-carrier has another trick up its sleeve, it seems.
According to a report from TmoNews, T-Mobile is teeing up to launch expanded data-only options in its Simple Choice lineup. The data-only offering previously existed as a unadvertised option geared toward the deaf and heard of hearing.
The new plans, which will reportedly go live on Wednesday, March 30, will include six different data tiers ranging from 2 GB to 22 GB per month for $20 to $95 dollars per month. In addition to the data allotment, the new plans will reportedly include unlimited text messaging.
As with the old offering, the new data-only options will not be advertised but will be available upon request in T-Mobile stores.
In a leaked T-Mobile document posted by TmoNews, the Un-carrier said the new option will be a”perfect fit for customers who do not want any voice service on their device.”
The document said the service will only be available on GSM devices and Blackberry devices – like the Blackberry 10 and Priv – that can use a smartphone rate plan. The plan will not be eligible for T-Mobile’s $10 Automatic Mobile Internet Discount, the document said.
T-Mobile did not immediately respond to a request for confirmation and comment on Monday.
