Verizon dropped Bloomberg News from its TV service last month after the financial media company sought a carriage fee to provide the network’s programming.
The wireless carrier, according to Reuters, declined to pay for the network’s content, which it noted is available for free on Bloomberg’s website and mobile app.
Many cable and satellite operators are increasingly hesitant to pay for content otherwise available online as they continue to lose business to cord cutters.
The move affects 4.6 million subscribers to Verizon’s Fios TV service. It remains unclear whether the carrier and network could still come to an agreement, Reuters reported.
