RFaxis to Showcase its Pure CMOS 802.11ac RF Front-end IC Products

By Staff Author | October 18, 2013

IRVINE, Calif., and AMSTERDAM– Broadband World Forum 2013 — October 16, 2013 — RFaxis announced that it will be demonstrating and showcasing its pure CMOS 802.11ac RF Front-end IC (RFeICTM) technology at the Broadband World Forum 2013 in Amsterdam next week.

“RFaxis has become the new incumbent RF solution provider in the rapidly growing broadband wireless entertainment space, with the latest deployment of 802.11ac standard,” said RFaxis Chairman and CEO Mike Neshat. “Our products being demonstrated at the Broadband World Forum are designed to support the latest generation of broadband wireless access and media/entertainment devices, including home and enterprise access point (AP)/routers, set-top boxes, HD video bridges, media servers, and handsets/tablets.”

All featured RFaxis products are pin-to-pin compatible with existing solutions available in today’s market, which are all based on significantly more expensive compound semiconductor processes. Following are the products being showcased at the Forum:

  • RFX8050: A highly integrated, single-chip, single-die RFeIC (RF Front-end Integrated Circuit) which incorporates key RF functionality needed for IEEE 802.11ac WLAN systems operating in the 5.15-5.85GHz range.
  • RFX8051: Provides the same key features and functionalities as the RFX8050, but in a 3 x 3x 0.55mm package.
  • RFX8422S: This is a fully integrated, single-chip, single-die RFeIC which incorporates all the RF functionality needed for dual-mode IEEE 802.11b/g/n/ac WLAN and Bluetooth operations including simultaneous WLAN and Bluetooth receive capability.
  • RFX240: A high power, high linearity power amplifier implemented in CMOS process. The device is optimized to provide all functionality of transmit power amplification for IEEE 802.11g/n/ac applications in the 2.4GHz frequency range.

The RFaxis product portfolio supports a broad range of products and technologies serving a broad base of customers across multiple high-growth market segments besides core WLAN applications. RFaxis products and technology are designed and optimized for use in broadband, high-bandwidth devices, multimedia and enterprise Access Point/Router markets in addition to entry level Access Point/Routers, as well as devices and components for handset, smartphone, tablet, laptop computing WiFi-enabled clients.
