Verizon Wireless today announced availability of the Samsung Omnia II, a touchscreen smartphone powered by Windows Mobile 6.5. The new Samsung phone features Swype technology, a predictive texting feature that allows users to type by simply swiping their finger through the letters of a word.
Additional features include a 3.7-inch WVGA AMOLED touch-screen, support for Microsoft Office Mobile, Samsung’s 3D cube UI and Opera 9.5 enhanced browser. The phone boasts a 5-megapixel camera with flash, auto focus and camcorder, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and 8GB internal memory expandable up to 16 GB.
The Samsung Omnia II will be available online and in Verizon Wireless Communications Stores beginning Dec. 2 for $199.99 after a $100 mail-in rebate with a new two-year customer agreement.
