According to a report in India’s Economic Times, Samsung has replaced Motorola as the third largest handset provider in India during the first quarter of this year. Nokia and Sony Ericsson continue to hold the first and second positions.
The report, citing the latest ORG data, said Samsung is the only top handset maker to increase market share in India during the quarter. Nokia’s share dropped from 72.3% to 69.5%, while Sony Ericsson’s stayed the same at 8.1%. Samsung’s increased from 5.7% to 7%, while Motorola’s dropped from 6.7% to 5.9%.
