How many times have you been at the airport with your wireless devices running on fumes and the few available electrical outlets are all taken? Change is on the way.
Samsung Telecommunications America has begun offering charging stations in airport terminals, the latest two airports being LaGuardia Airport and Orlando International Airport. The Samsung Mobile Charging Stations offer travelers free recharging of their mobile phones, laptops and other personal electronics.
At LaGuardia, 12 8.5-foot-tall, pole-like charging stations have been installed inside the boarding areas in the Central Terminal Building. Orlando International Airport will offer travelers access to 18 charging stations located on Level 2 in four satellite terminals.
The stations have four outlets per station, allowing several travelers to recharge their devices at the same time.
Con Edison is providing the electricity for LaGuardia’s charging stations and the Orlando Utilities Commission is providing electricity at Orlando International Airport.
Samsung also has installed charging stations at John F. Kennedy International Airport, Los Angeles International Airport and Dallas/Fort Worth International Airport.
