Sprint announced Friday that it will offer a free year of Amazon Prime to new and existing customers who activate a qualifying Samsung smartphone by Nov. 30.
According to the promotion’s terms, the offer is available to existing customers who upgrade or add a new line of service as well as new customers who make the jump to Sprint. Devices eligible for the offer include the Samsung Galaxy S6, S6 edge, S6 edge+ and Note5.
Amazon Prime is a paid membership service that offers unlimited free two day shipping on Amazon purchases, unlimited streaming on Prime Video, ad-free streaming of playlists on Prime Music and unlimited photo storage on Prime Photos. A full year membership typically costs $99.
Sprint’s Prime promotion coincides with its current Samsung lease offer, under which customers can get the 32 GB Galaxy S6 for $10 per month or the 32 GB Note 5 for $17 per month through Nov. 25. The deal also follows the unveiling of Sprints new $20 “unlimited” data plan, which offers customers 1 GB of high speed data and unlimited 2G data each month. When paired with an unlimited talk and text plan, the total monthly cost is $40. Sprint also offers a $70 full unlimited plan.
