Sprint Outs Pricing, Availability for New HTC Devices

By Andrew Berg | June 6, 2011

Sprint today announced availability and pricing for two new HTC Evo products. The HTC Evo 3D smartphone and HTC Evo View tablet will be available on June 24 for $199.99 and $399.99, respectively, with a two-year contract.

The HTC Evo brings glasses-free 3D to the smartphone. The device comes running Android 2.3 (Gingerbread) and features a 4.3-inch display, 1.2GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon dual-core processor and dual 5-megapixel cameras, which can be used to capture conventional and 3D images and videos. The Evo 3D also will support Sprint’s WiMAX service.

Laptop Magazine honored HTC Evo 3D with its Best Smart Phone Award and the coveted Best in Show honor at CTIA this spring.

On the tablet front, HTC brings customers the Evo View 4G. The slate features a 7-inch touchscreen, 1.5GHz Snapdragon processor and latest version of HTC Sense. The Evo View will launch with Android 2.3 (Gingerbread) and will be updated to Android 3.0 (Honeycomb), which has been optimized to run on tablets.

For a limited time, any customer who purchases the HTC Evo View 4G will receive the HTC Scribe digital pen (otherwise sold separately) at no charge with a two-year service agreement.

Rate plans for the HTC Evo View start around $34 per month for 3GB of 3G data and unlimited 4G data usage while on the Sprint network. Sprint currently offers WiMAX service in 71 markets in 28 states.

Customers can pre-order HTC Evo 3D or HTC Evo View 4G at Sprint stores with the purchase of a $50 Sprint gift card. Additionally, Sprint Premier customers will have the opportunity to purchase HTC Evo 3D online three days before the national launch, while supplies last.
