Sprint Prepaid Revamps Pricing

By Ben Munson | September 15, 2014

Sprint Prepaid, the carrier’s official prepaid brand, has realigned its pricing to mirror rates at its Boost Mobile and Virgin Mobile brands.

Sprint Prepaid’s new three tiers all offer unlimited talk and text. The $35 plan features 1GB of data, the $45 plan features 3GB of data, and the $55 offering features 6GB of data.

Speeds vary from 4G to 3G depending on availability and Sprint says that video streaming on these plans “may be limited to 3G speeds.” A Sprint spokesperson confirmed that video streaming on 3G will only apply to Sprint customers in a 3G area.

When Sprint Prepaid originally launched in March, it offered a $45 plan with unlimited talk and text with Wi-Fi only, and a $60 plan with unlimited talk and text plus 2.5GB of high-speed data.

Sprint has been busy lately revamping its plans. The carrier recently announced new Family Share Packs offering up to 20GB for $100, a new $60 unlimited everything single-line plan, and special leasing and plans for the new iPhone 6 and 6 Plus.
