Sprint has slipped to last place among the four major U.S. carriers in Consumer Reports’ new customer satisfaction survey.
As Reuters points out, Sprint scored a 59 out of 100 in the survey that uses metrics like voice, text and 4G reliability. In last year’s survey, Sprint finished second among the big four, slotted in just behind Verizon Wireless.
This year, Verizon again led among the big four with a 71, followed by T-Mobile with a 65 and AT&T with a 64.
2013 has been a transitional year for Sprint to say the least. Japanese carrier SoftBank acquired an 80-percent stake in the carrier while Sprint was busy buying up the rest of wireless broadband provider Clearwire. Meanwhile, Sprint’s move away from WiMax to LTE has been under heavy construction, with the carrier shuttering its iDEN push-to-talk network in order to reuse that spectrum for LTE.
Among wireless providers included in the study, Consumer Cellular scored the best with an 88.
