Sprint today announced it too will be doubling (or nearly doubling) the data buckets for some of its Family Share Packs.
From now through Oct. 31, customers who opt for Sprint’s 32 GB, 40 GB and 60 GB buckets will end up with 60 GB, 80 GB and 120 GB for the same price. The deal extends to existing customers on those plans currently and those who move up from their current data plans as well.
Under Sprint’s new promotion, 60 GB of data will run $130 a month. That compares to the new rates under AT&T’s recently announced promotion, that now gives customers 30 GB instead of 15 GB for $130.
“Sprint continues its pledge to provide U.S. consumers ‘double the data’ compared to AT&T and Verizon for the same or lower monthly price,” Sprint said in a statement.
In addition to the Family Share Pack promotion, Sprint is doubling the data on some of its Business Share plans, too. Starting Oct. 3 and running through Oct. 31, new customers picking up the 40 GB, 60 GB, 80 GB, or 100 GB Sprint Business Share plans will all see their buckets double for the same monthly cost.
Sprint says that all family and business customers who sign up for the promotion will keep the double data rates indefinitely unless they switch plans or choose a different data amount.
Sprint is continuing with the switching credit promotion it announced last month. Through Oct. 31, Sprint will be offering a $150 credit for porting over a line and a minimum $150 trade-in credit for devices. Through Sept. 30, the carrier is offering higher trade-ins for iPhones—up to $200 for a 5C and up to $300 for a 5S.
For customers porting over their number to Sprint, the carrier is waiving the access charge for handsets, tablets and mobile broadband devices on 20GB and purchased through Sprint Easy Pay or the Sprint iPhone for Life Plan through 2015.
For a limited time, business customers porting over a number and activating a non-subsidized device with a Sprint Business Share plan, Sprint will also waive access charges for devices on 20GB or higher data allowances through the end of 2015.
