Surface Mount Fuse for Telecommunications Applications

Littelfuse, Inc. announced the introduction of the 461 Series, TelecomNano²&reg surface mount fuse developed for telecommunications applications. The TelecomNano² was designed to work in conjunction with Littelfuse surface mount Surgector transient voltage suppressors to provide protection from lightning, power cross and other transient surge conditions. When used with such devices, the TelecomNano2 will enable equipment such as Telephones; Modems; Line Cards; SLIC; Set Top Boxes, Computer Telephony equipment; PBX & SOHO products and Pairgain equipment to comply with the requirements of Telcordia (Bellcore) GR-1089, UL 1950 / IEC 950, FCC Part 68, and ITU K.20 & K.21 standards.

The TelecomNano² fuse ratings include 0.50 and 1.25A. The 1.25A rating provides 600V/60A Short Circuit compliance for telecommunications applications. The TelecomNano² 10.10 &#215 3.1mm footprint is 35% smaller than the current 2AG style fuses used for line protection compliance, helping to save valuable board space while providing better transmission quality and greater surge withstand characteristics. The TelecomNano² is a form-fit-function replacement for existing fuse products that meet the Telcordia, UL1950/IEC 950, FCC Part 68, and ITU K.20 & K.21 standards.
