T-Mobile USA yesterday announced an Oct. 19 start of the Motorola CLIQ pre-sale for existing T-Mobile customers. Devices will be shipped to customers as orders are received.
The CLIQ, Motorola’s first Android-powered device, will be available in stores and online beginning Nov. 2. It will sell for $199.99 with a two-year service agreement.
T-Mobile voice plans start at $29.99 per month and qualifying data plans start at $24.99 per month.
The CLIQ’s price could be a bit of a sticking point for some comsumers. At $200, the unproven CLIQ evenly matches the 16GB iPhone 3GS. Additionally, the Pre is now available on Amazon for $100.
Even within the Android arena, the CLIQ’s price looks a bit steep. The myTouch 3G is available from T-Mobile for $149.99. Each of the prices listed here assumes a two-year contract.
