T-Mobile’s prepaid brand MetroPCS announced Monday it is giving customers on some of its plans more data and access to unlimited music streaming.
According to Monday’s release, the company is adding 1 GB of high speed data to each of its $35 and $45 per month plans and an extra 2GB of tethering data to its $55 per month plan.
MetroPCS said the new expanded data packages will go even farther with the introduction of T-Mobile’s Data Maximizer technology, which will allow users to watch up to three times more streaming video with the same amount of data.
Customers will also have access to unlimited music streaming from 33 music services with the company’s Music Unlimited feature.
With the new family plan rates, which include two or more lines, customers will get unlimited talk, text and data with 1 GB of LTE data with Data Maximizer for $25 per month; unlimited talk, text and data with 3 GB of LTE data with Music Unlimited and Data Maximizer for $35 per month; and unlimited talk, text and data with 5 GB of LTE data with Music Unlimited and Data Maximizer for $45 per month. Though all MEtroPCS plans allow customers to use tethering, those on the $55 per month plan will now get 8 GB of tethering data in addition to unlimited talk, text and LTE data, Music Unlimited and Data Maximizer.
The same offerings can be obtained by single-line users for an extra $5 per month.
The new rate plans, along with the new Music Unlimited and Data Maximizer features, will be available beginning Thursday, Nov. 19.
