The Un-Carrier is getting all, well, Un-carrier again for Valentines day.
According to a press release, T-Mobile customers can stroll into a retail store and help themselves to a free Alcatel OneTouch Pop 7-inch Android tablet.
The new promotion will run from February 12 through February 16 at participating T-Mobile locations.
T-Mobile said it is extending the offer for $0 with any qualifying data plan so customers pay only the sales tax out the door.
Customers who take advantage of the offer will need to set up a data plan, which start at 1GB of mobile Internet for $20 per month and go up to $40 per month for 5GB of LTE data.
Of course what is very much like the typical carrier in that all of this is contingent on a 24-month committment, as the remaining tablet balance of up to $168 comes due if the subscriber cancels service before 2 years are up.
The offer isn’t necessarily new, as T-Mobile offered pretty much the exact same offer on Black Friday.
T-Mobile has been lagging in tablet growth while AT&T, Sprint, and Verizon have all used postpaid tablet additions to make up for a loss of new postpaid smartphone subscirbers.
